STEVENSON MEMORIAL
PLAQUE FOR HYERES

t LONDON, May 13. The Robert Louis Stevenson Club (London) has provided a memorial plaque, to be placed on "La Solitude," Hyeres, France, in memory of the famous author. It is of Doulton china, with an inscription and design in pale blue against a background of dark blue. It is circular in shape and in diameter is almost two feet.
The inscription reads: " Here, during 1883-1884, lived the English author, Robert Louis Stevenson. He declared: ' I was only once happy, that was at Hyeres.'" The plaque, which has been on view at Messrs Bumpus's, in Oxford street, is to be unveiled in Hyeres at the end of May. The Mayor of Hyeres is tho present proprietor of the villa, and is naturally interested in the club's project. There •will be an appropriate ceremony on the occasion of the unveiling, and the Hyeres Corporation has undertaken all local arrangements and expenses.
