A DEBATED SUBDIVISION

TO THE EDITOR

Sik, —1 was rather interested in the remarks and arguments put forward by several councillors at the last meeting ot the City Council in reference to a property subdivision. Councillor Shepherd, while contending that the subdivision on the Order Paper was definitely contrary to the city bylawn, also drew attention to the fact that the area of ground which is adjoining the property proposed to be subdivided had a number of long leads or narrow right-of-ways, some of them being in the region of 200 feet in length before the building section was reached. If this is a fact surely subdivisions of that kind are a blot on the beauty of our city and call for a little town-planning. Would it be possible. Sir, as a matter of public interest, to have a plan ot that particular area reproduced in your paper? —1 am. etc.. ToWN-PLANNEIt. Dunedin, June 10. [lf a copy of the plan iw procurable we shall reproduce it. —Ed. O.D.T.]
