Highland Pipe Band The annual meeting of the Temuka Highland Pipe Band, held on Wednesday evening, was presided, over by Mr R. Geddes. The annual report stated that the band had. paraded on 19 oecasioiw during the year, special reference being made to the loss of several members. However, hopes wore expressed that the ranks would be filled by the learners, who were progressing well and would soon become proficient players. The balance sheet showed that the credit stood at £136 2s Sd, the assets were £4OB 19s 9d, and the liabilities nil. The report concluded with the statement that next year the band will have been in existence 25 years. The resignation of Mr George Fletcher, jun., was accepted with regret, and he was made a life member. Officers were elected as follows: —Patron, Mr George Fletcher, sen.; president, Mr A. W. Buzan; vicepresidents, Messrs W. Cargo and M. Coffey; pipe-major, Mr H. Harrison; pipesergeant, Mr R. Geddes; pipe-corporal, Mr N*. M'Kinnon; lance-corporal, left over; drum-major, Mr L. Ilea; drum-sergeant, Mr J. Harrison; drum-corporal, Mr V. Connolly; secretary and treasurer, Mr U. Harrison: trustees, Messrs W. F. Evans and H. Harrison.
