THE COUNTY MATCHES GOOD BOWLING PERFORMANCES LONDON, June 9. Following arc the results of county matches: — MIDDLESEX v. NORTHANTS. Middlesex: First innings, 192 (Robins 77; Clark seven for OS) ; second innings, 278 (Compton 87). Northants: First innings, 98 (Robins four for 15, Smith five for 21); second innings, 119 (S.ims five for 20). Middlesex won by 283 runs. SURREY v. LANCASHIRE. Surrey: First innings, 151 (Hopwood seven for 53); second innings, seven for 331 declared (Sandham 73, Fishlock 7!). Lancashire: First innings, 304 (Watson 101); second innings, none fpr 25. Lancashire won on the first innings. ESSEX v. NOTTS. Essex: First innings, 171 (Vocc five for 54, Larwood four for 57) ; second innings, 100 (Larwood five for 30). Notts: First innings, 77 (Nichols nine for 32); second innings, none for 201 (Keeton 115 not out, Harris not out 81). Notts won by 10 wickets. LEICESTER v. SUSSEX. Leicester: First innings, 133 (Jim Parks five for 38); second innings, seven for 250 declared (James Parks live for 70). Sussex: First innings, 1S1; second innings, two for 07. Sussex won on the first innings. KENT v. SOMERSET.

Kent: First innings, 165 (Wellard seven for 01); second innings, 303 (Wellard five for 77). Somerset: First innings, 146 (Todd six for 45) ; second innings, 15G (Freeman seven for 58). Kent won by GG runs. GLOUCESTER v. WARWICKSHIRE. Gloucester: First innings, eight for 453 declared (Barnett 132, Dacre 116). Warwickshire: First innings, 109 (Sinfield live for 47).

Warwickshire followed on and made IG7 (Goddard seven for 55).

Gloucester won by an innings and 117 runs.

HAMPSHIRE v. GLAMORGAN,

Hampshire: First innings, 150 (Clay five for 34) second innings, 233 (Clay six for 88).

Glamorgan: First innings, 111 (Creese four for 36, Hill four for 42); second innings, 131 (Boyes six for 43). Hampshire won by 147 runs.

FAILURES OF INDIANS BOMBAY, June 10. (Received June 11, at 1.15 p.m.) The failures of the Indian cricketers, who have not won a match and lost six. are causing much concern in India, and critics are urging the Board of Control to take drastic stops to avoid ignominy. They advocate the displacement of the Maharajah of Vizanagram from the' captaincy in favour of C. K. Xaytidn or Wazir Ali, Xayudu’s brother. C. S. Xayudu, who is a googly Jiowler. is now flying to England to strengthen the attack.
