NICOL SOUNDLY BEATEN
LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT CONTEST
(Pee United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, June 10. The light-heavy-w.eight boxing contest this evening between Roy de Cans (12.2), the American negro, and Ray Nieol (12.6) was won by Do Gan* on points. There was a packed house. De Cans won practically every round. Over the second half of (he contest he scored at will and punished Nieol heavily. De Gans has been matched to fight Tiny Nicholls (the Australian heavy-weight) at Invercargill on July 1. Nicholls will meet Max Rosenhloom at the Sydney Stadium on June 15, and will leave for New Zealand immediately afterwards.
