BOXING ROSENBLOOM BEATS SIMPSON. (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, June 8. Max Rosenbloom (12.13), former light-heavy-weight champion of the world, had his first fight in Australia tonight at the Sydney Stadium, when he stopped the American George Simpson (12.12), who was making his debut, in the third round. Simpson was handicapped with a damaged ankle, caused on Saturday, and entered the ring with it heavTly bandaged. Roaebloom, a rugged fighter with terrific power behind his blows, toyed with his opponent for two rounds, and then brought down his man with a terrific right chop to the jaw. Simpson was down for eight seconds. He tried to rise, but was in obvious pain from his leg. The referee stopped the contest and crowned Rosenbloom. The attendance was only moderate, nothing like what was expected.
