LEAGUE ASSEMBLY
MR JORDAN’S APPOINTMENT
BY-ELECTION POSTPONED
(Per United Press Association)
WELLINGTON, June 9,
It was thought at first that the departure towards the end of July of Mr \V. J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau, for Geneva to represent New ,Zealand on the Assembly of the League of Nations, would necessitate a by-election in August, but it is now felt to be desirable that Mr Jordan should remain a member of Parliament in order to give him' improved status. This will probably mean that there will be no by-election until the end of thejear, when Mr Jordan will assume the office of High Commissioner.
