SECOND PART OF SESSION OUTLINED BY PRIME MINISTER (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 9. Th e restoration *o the 1931 level of all wages and salaries to date from July 1 will be made under the Government legislation during tlie second part of the present session, according to a statement made in the House of Representatives to-night by the Prime Minister (Mr M. J. Sjvage). An outline of the other legislation planned by the Government was also given by the Prime Minister. "I desire to announce that Parliament will reassemble on July 21 for the second portion of this year’s session,” said Mr Savage. ‘‘During it it is the intention of the Government, to prcnarc legislation providing for a readjustment of mortgages. the restoration of wage cuts to date from July 1, the restoration of public service salary cuts to date fiom July J. and an increase of pensions and flic payment of pensions to invalids, also to date from July 1. In addition it is intended to make preparation through the Labour Department for the organisation of farm labour under reasonable conditions and at fair rates of pay, to speed up the building programme, including housing and public buildings, to speed up other public works of national importance, and to prepare the Budget for presentation as early as possible after the House reassembles. “It is further intended during the recess to take whatever steps may be necessary to prevent unfair rises of prices in order that the people may not be exploited. Every effort will also be made to advance the establishment of new industries. and during the next part of flic session a Bill will be introduced for the purpose of assisting industry generally to secure greater efficiency and co-ordina-tion. thus enabling it to compete fairly with overseas products.”
