GAOL FOR HEIRESS
Miryla Eiger, richest heiress in Poland,, was recently sent to gaol for 12 years’ hard labour. She was accused of Communistic activity. Two of her compari: ions were similarly sentenced. Miss Eiger is the 30-year-old daughter of one of the wealthiest manufacturers in the country, who is also a Consul in Denmark. When she was 16 she renounced a dowry of £2,000,000 from her father and became a Communist. She visited Russia, and when she returned it was alleged she carried on propaganda among people of her own class.
