HOSPITAL BOARD VACANCY
MR F. W. VENN ELECTED At a combined meeting last evening of the City Council and the West Harbour Borough Council Mr F. W. Venn was elected to fill the vacancy on the Otago Hospital Board occasioned by the resignation of. the Postmaster-general (Mr F. Jones). The nominees were:—Mr F. W. Venn (nominated by Mr A. Smith), Mrs Frances Mav Don (Cr W. W. Batchelor), and Mr J. W. Seiirr (Cr F. W. Mitchell). Ju a preliminary ballot Mrs Don was eliminated, the voting being:—Venn 22, Scurr 12, Mrs Don 11, and in the final ballot Mr Venn was again successful, gaining 18 votes to Mr Scuvr’s 5.
