HIGH STANDARD IN AUSTRALIA SUPERIORITY IN VOLLEYING (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 16 ; Members of the New Zealand junior lawn tennis team, who have been playing in Australia, returned by the Makura. They were N. F. Bedford, S. Painter, J. L. Corich, J. W. Gunn, and R. G. Pattinson. In an interview Bedford said that the team found the standard of junior lawn tennis in Australia very much higher than in New Zealand. Promising players were taken in hand when 14 or 15, and the result was that some of them were wonderful exponents of the game. Si dwell, who was only 15, was particularly impressive. " Their volleying is miles ahead of ours, and, as for stroking, some of them are wonderful,” said Bedford.
