COLLISION WITH TREE MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. (Pee United Press Association) AUCKLALND, March 15. Swerving into a tree a Ponsonby motor cyclist, Thomas William Wells, of Grey Lynn, was killed on Saturday evening. Wells was riding up the road on his way home’ when he hit a tree, receiving the full force of the impact on his head. He was taken to hospital in the ambulance, but was dead on arrival. The deceased was a married man with no children. He was about 36 years of age and was employed as a storeman. MOTOR TRUCK CAPSIZES TWO MAORIS INJURED. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, March 15. Two Maoris were seriously injured when the light motor truck iu which they were riding skidded in loose metal, hit a bank, turned two somersaults and crashed into a drain on the Taneatua road at 7.30 last evening. The injured persons were William Wiremu M’Coy. of Waiohou, aged 27 years, who suffered a severe gash on the head, ami Peter Paul, aged four years, who suffered head abrasions and concussion. The little boy’s condition is satisfactory, but M’Coy is in a critical condition. The truck, which was driven by the father of the injured boy, was returning with a party of Maoris from Taneatua when the accident occurred. The injured persons wore convoyed to the Whakatane Hospital by motor car. None of the others was hurt. DROWNING FATALITY FEARED TECHNICAL COLLEGE STUDENT. (Per United Press Association i WANGANUI, March 15. Believed to have been drowned in the sea near the Wanganui airport, a Technical College student. Roy M'Gregor Dickey, aged 16, has been missing from his home on Doric Hill since Saturday night. He went to the south beach to collect shells for a fernery, and early this morning a search party found his bicycle and clothes on the edge of the sandhills and footprints leading down to the water. The sea bed in this locality is full of deep holes and the boy was a poor swimmer. BODY FOUND HANGING (Per United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, March 15. The body of Thomas James Hamilton, aged 30, a single man, was found hanging at Kcw at the back of the now Southland Hospital building this morning. He bad been missing from his homo since Friday morning. KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR Hazel Roberts, 15 years of age, living with her parents in Drydcn street, Mosgiel, was knocked down by a motor car while riding a bicycle along Duke’s road yesterday, and was admitted to the hospital at 7.10 p.m. suffering from concussion and wounds to the head and body.
