ST. PATRICK’S DAY
St. Patrick’s Day will again be commemorated by a high-class concert of national interest. Most of the artists engaged are well and favourably known to Dunedin concert audiences, and their inclusion should ensure that once again the annual St. Patrick’s Concert will rank high among the outstanding programmes of the year. Irish song and dance, Irish melody and humour usually provide ample scope for an enjoyable entertainment, and when such artists as Mcsdamcs L. J. Cronin, Stewart Faulkner (Miss Bertha Rnwlinson). Mis« Nellie Hennghnn. and Mr Alfred Walmsley are included amongst the performers little doubt need remain that the 1930 concert will not maintain the previous high standard. Now performers this year will include Miss Jean Hoggins, a young and talented violinist, Messrs Allan Cocke and Larry Ford, whose vocal items _ should prove decidedly popular ’ contributions, and Master Eddie Redmond, a tiny, but talented, solo cornetist. Youthful exponents of the Irish jig—Masters Jack Cameron and Keith Miller—will make their second appearance, and their item "ill. no doubt be a popular one. St. Philomena’s champion choir and the Boys’ Band of Rt. Joseph’s Orphanage will undertake the major presentations. The box plan is at the D.T.C.
