RIFLE SHOOTING

CLINTON DEFENCE CLUB The Clinton Defence Rifle Club fired its fourth cup shoot on Saturday, eight members taking part. A tricky wind was blowing, spoiling the scoring. Rifleman S. Robertson was the winner of the button. The leading aggregates for the cup are:—J. Black 288, W. Brown 286 i with only one more cup shoot to be shot. The following arc the scores: — 300 500 GOO

TIMARU DEFENCE CLUB The Timaru Defence Rifle Club fired the open date shoot on Saturday. The conditions were seven shots at 300. 500, and 600 yards. At 300 yards Rifleman F. Black made 34, and at the 500, C. K. Paine made an excellent 35. ( At 600 yards, F. Knight made a good 34. The match for the day was won by R. Parker, with 101. G. K. Paine was second with 98, and F.
