BANDITS ROUTED
Motor cycle bandits who made a daring raid near Dalkeith, Scotland, recently were beaten off by a man armed with an axe. Two men entered the Shews office of the Lothian Coal Company and asked the attendant. James Morton, for a piece of paper to write a note.
As Morton turned to get it one of the men attacked him and flung him to the ground. In the meantime the second bandit ransacked the office for money, but failed to find the cash box. Morton, recovering from 1 the blows ho had received, seized an axe and ran at the men, who fled. They mounted a motor cycle, which they had left outside, and disappeared.
