NELSON TROTTING CLUB

The committee of the Nelson Trotting Club had considered that it was impossible for the club to run a trotting meeting this year in view of the fact that, in its opinion, to do eo would be to involve the club in very considerable loss. That was the unanimous opinion reached by the committee of nine and the presi-

dent, and was communicated to members.

However, the old committee is now no longer in existence, having been thrown out at a Bpecial meeting of the club last evening. An entirely new group was then set up in its place, for it was shown at the meeting that a large majority of members desired to hold the trotting meeting this year, and wished to elect a committee which was willing to run it. It was decided to hold the meeting at the end of April. For that fixture guarantors have assisted to the extent of £450. The club's indebtedness is £9O at present. _
