A MUSTERER'S DEATH FALL OVER 40-FOOT BANK. (Peb United Press Association) DANNEVIRKE, March 5. While mustering cattle in rugged country William George Little, aged 50, manager of Mr Ralph Holder's property at Makotuku, met his death by falling over a 40ft bank and striking his head on a log. The body was found in three feet of water. The deceased leaves a wife and six of a family -whose ages range from 15 to 24 years. WATERSIDE WORKER'S DEATH INQUEST OPENED. The death occurred at the Hospital yesterday morning of Joseph Verrina, a waterside worker, who was admitted for treatment on February 23 suffering from concussion and cyanide poisoning as the result of a fall while he was fumigating on board the Narbada. The inquest was opened at the Hospital before the coroner (Mr H. WBundle, S.M.) later in the morning, and evidence of identification was given by Mr J. Annan, secretary of the Port Chalmers Waterside Workers' Union. Tim inquest was then adjourned and an order was made for a post-mortem examination to be conducted. STRUCK BY MOTOR CAR Robert Soulsby, a married man, aged 49 years, was admitted to the Hospital at 12.30 p.m. yesterday suffering from a fiacture of the left leg and injuries to the head, caused through his being knocked down by a motor car in High street, Mosgicl. The injured man resides at 47 Young street, St. Kilda. MACHINIST INJURED Whilst working yesterday in th'j machine shop of Messrs Cadbury Fry Hudson's factory, where he is employed, Harold Flett, a married man, 30 years of age, who resides at 16 Glenross street, Roslyn, was struck on the right eye with a splinter of hot metal. He was admitted to the Hospital at noon. FACTORY WORKER SCALDED Leslie Groves, an employee of Messrs W. Gregg and Co., had both legs badly scalded " yesterday afternoon when he slipped into a vat of boiling sauce near which he was working. The injured man, who resides at 3 New street, Musselburgh, was admitted to Hospital at 4 p.m. INJURY TO EYE John Walsh, a married man, aged (51 years, who resides at 523 Main South road, Caversham, was admitted to the Hospital shortly after 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon suffering from an injury to the right eye caused by a chip which Hew up from some wood he was chopping.
