THE WEATHER
Showery weather prevailed yesterday. Fairlp heavy rain fell during the morning, with light showers in the afternoon. There was a light south-east breeze, and tlie maximum temperature was 55 degrees. CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, January 14. Wet, sultry weather prevailed to-day. Heavy rain fell at intervals throughout the day, and there M'as a fresh to strong northerly wind. The temperature at noon w r as 74 degrees. The barometer fell sharply from 29.65 in to 29.25 in during the day. WELLINGTON, January 14. The weather was dull and misty to-day, with continuous rain. The clouds were very low. A light to moderate southerly breeze was cooler than for some time past. The maximum temperature was 58.7 degrees, CHRISTCHURCH, January 14. The weather to-day was overcast, but fine, with a maximum temperature of 64.6 degrees and a moderate east-north-east breeze. The barometer, after falling, is now steady at 29.70 in.
