NAZI PERSECUTION
BLOOD AND IRON THEORY DENOUNCED BY CLERGYMAN (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) BERLIN, January 13. (Received Jan. 13, at 11 p.m.) After a long silence Protestant pastor* and Catholic priests vigorously denounce Nazi persecution. They are issuing a manifesto from hundreds of pulpits, defying the efforts to turn the Evangelical Church into a branch of the Nazi Party. The Catholic bishop in Berlin requires his flock to repudiate the Nazi theory of blood and iron.
