MAGNITUDE OF BUSINESS (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, November 29. * (Received Dee. 1, at 5.5 p.m.) The magnitude of the Post Office business in the economic life of the nation was illustrated by the fact that the total value of the transactions with the public in the year ended last March was £860,000,000. Some 6,900,000,000 letters and postcards were dealt with, and money orders to the value of £59,600,000 and postal orders to the value of £71,600,000 were issued. Savings Bank balances at the credit of depositors at December 8, 1934, reached £355,000,000. Wireless receiving licences issued totalled 7,012,000.
