THE WEATHER

Perfect summer weather prevailed on Saturday, the sun shining from a clear sky for the greater part of the day. A light southerly wind was blowing, and the maximum temperature was 68 degrees. There was a continuation of ideal weather yesterday, a hot, sunny day being tempered by a light breeze from the south. The maximum temperature was 68.5 degres and the barometer continued its rising tendency, the reading last night being 30.45 in. CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH. The weather was fine and a moderate southerly wind prevailed during the week-end, but conditions were cloudy and overcast until to-day, which was warm and sunny. The barometer has been steady at 30.15 in since Friday night. WELLINGTON, December 1. Saturday was dull and misty, with a trace of rain at times. A light northerly breeze prevailed, and the maximum temperature for the day was 60.8 degrees. The wind became southerly at 730 a.m. to-day and a moderate southerly blew all day. The morning was dull, with occasional light misty rain, but the afternoon was fine and sunny. The maximum temperature for the day was 58 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, December 1. The weather was fine and warm but for the most part cloudy over the weekend. The wind was light from the northeast. The barometer rose slowly and registered 30.30 in at 5 p.m.
