MATCH AGAINST QUEENSLAND HOME SIDE SCORES 203 BRISBANE, November 29. (Received Nov. 29, at 11.45 p.m.) Marylebone’s strong position at the end of the "first day in the match against Queensland was due less to the strength of the tourists’ attack than to the timidity of the home batsmen, all of whom except Tallon, Bensted and M'Carthy lacked confidence to play the bowling on its merits. Baxter, Sims and Langridge, while not being venomous, provided variety on a good wicket. The brightest cricket came from the Tallon-Bonsted partnership. The former was always aggressive and attractive. Barber, after being dropped at four, and Smith played steady, correct cricket. Following are the scores:— QUEENSLAND. First Innings.
