DEMAND FOR GOOD LAND
SUCCESSFUL SALE AT INVER-: ■ ■ .CARGILL; (Pee United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, November 29. If anything were required to substantiate the indications that there is a defii nite inquiry for : land, particularly. -for good , land offered for bona fide: sale, it was provided to-day when an auction sale was conducted in Invercargill on behalf of the executors in the estate of the late William Curran. Twelve lots, most of them close to Invercargill, were offered. Nine were sold under the hammer, two being disposed of immediately afterwards, and only one lot (of poor country) was passed. It was apparent that the conditions were encouraging purchasers in this direction, particularly when good properties were available at prices that were not prohibitive. It must be many years since such a sale by public auction in Southland has had such a satisfactory outcome. ; Prices generally were not high, but the bidding for good land was very brisk, and for best lots entirely satisfactory values were obtained.
