OVERLOADED VEHICLES
WARNING TO DRIVERS (Pee United Press Association) ' WELLINGTON, November. 29.., ? A direction that in future both owners and drivers of overloaded vehicles should be brought before him was given by Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Upper Hutt after he had con-, eidered the liability of the two parties. Counsel for the two owners said that in the first case'' the employer had no wish that the driver should overload) but apparently with the idea of doing his employer a service the driver had allowed the vehicle to be overloaded. In the other case the employer had given the employee written instructions not to overload. Many employers ; were going to a great deal of trouble to see that the law was obeyed but some driver? persisted in overloading.
