BALCLUTHA Wirths' Circu» Wirth'e Circus played, to a capacity house in, Balclutha on Wednesday, despite the fact that it was election night. An excellent programme was presented featuring performing tigerti tamed and presented by Captain Fiyger, a contortionist act by Miss El. Star, the two tramps, a jockey act by Miss Nelly Conolly and Philip Wirth, juu., football dogs, performing elephants presented by Mr Harry Mooney, the golden horse high school act by Miss Gladys, the Plying Nelsons, sensational angel act by three young ladies, midget elephants playing skittles, funny Dan and his dogs, the de Pauls (lady acrobats), Miss Madelaine in graceful pad riding act, Frohn'e sea lions, Danny D'Alma and performing geese, Fredga Zilambam (Mexican cowboy) in amazing feats of horsemanship, the Seven Hiltons (acrobatic footballers), and astonishing monkey and pony acts.
Grapes are grown in the sky by Mrs Stevens, of New York. She transported 10 tons of top soil before planting her vines on the " summit" of a skyscraper. Advertising pays its way, otteu many times over. It will permit lower prices through increased volume. It can reduce gelling costs. It can lessen the time in which a product moves from factory to consumer.
