The opinion that the Christchiireh City Council should prohibit the parking of motor cars in Colombo street between Armagh street and Lichfield street, and that the use of Durham street and Manchester street by through motor traffic should be encouraged was expressed by the Works and Traffic Committee of the Christchurch Tramways Board in a report to the meeting of the board the other day. The committee had considered a suggestion by the chief city traffic inspector (Mr H. Macintosh) that the Armagh street tram stop on the outward track in Colombo street should.be mover one car-length further north. The com mittee had ascertained that trams no? stop at the points, and considered tha* any change would not be in the boardV interests.
