MARKETING OF WOOL
NEED FOR PUBLICITY (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, November 28. The need for publicity in the marketing of wool was emphasised _by Lord Barnby, a distinguished figure in British commerce and particularly in the wool industry, at a luncheon arranged by. business men. Lord Barnby said it was singular that wool was a commodity that was not advertised. During the depression years a marked fall had occurred in its price. Had that taken place with, say, soap or other commodities, a publicity campaign would have been embarked upon to revive trade. Further, there had been an enormous increase in the rayon silk trade of recent years, but no attempt was being made to counter it.
