THE SHARE MARKET DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE There was a sharp drop in the value of Bank of New Zealand shares on the Dunedin Stock Exchange yesterday, the closing buying offer being £2 63, while sellers asked £2 Bs. An even greater depreciation in prices was .recorded in Reserve Banks, the best buying offer for which was £5 10s. Sellers' new requirement was 15 19s. South British Insurances were inojiired for at the easier price or £4 13s, but sellers would not accept lesa than £4 17s. Standard Insurances eased very considerably, the closing buying quotation being £3, which was lis below sellers' requirements. Mortgage Corporations met with a weaker inquiry at ss, sailers refusing to accept/less than 5s 6d. Wilsons Cements were in demand at £2, ex dividend, but sellers did not come forward. New Zealand Bieweries were disposed of at £2 15s, and sales from the previous day were reported at £2 15s 6d and £S 15s"9d. The market closed with a buyer at £2 14s 9d. There was a noticeable easing in the demand for the 4 per cent. Government bond and stock issues, sellers showing little interest. SALE.ON 'CHANGE.

MINING NEWS OKARITO DIVIDEND The directors of the Okarito Fivemile Beach Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., have declared a dividend of 10 per cent. (6d per share), payable on December 17. WAITAHU REPORT The secretaries of the Waitahu Gold Dredging Company (Messrs W. A. Mitsou and Co.) report that during the past five weeks work hate been done on the bed of Little Redman's Creek, lhe actual bottom was found to be 30ft below the level of the normal run of bottom wash, but when this was sluiced away a payed tail race was exposed, showing that tie creek had been previously worked by the early miners. The return from four chains and a-half of creek bottom was only Boz, thus indicating that the creek itself was not worth bothering about. lhe elevator waa now being removed to the ordinary working face, where an area ot nearly an acre had been stripped ready for elevating. Keen competition prevailed, but the market showed no change from the previous day. Greasy merino sold to 24Jd. ZINC CORPORATION DIVIDENDS ANNOUNCED. (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 28. The Zinc Corporation has notified the Stock Exchange Association that the directors have declared the second half of the fixed cumulative dividend of 2s on preference shares for the half-year ending December 31, less income tax of 2s 5d in the pound, also an interim participating dividend of 2s per share on both preference and ordinary shares in respect of the year 1935, less income tax of 2s 7Jd in the pound. Both dividends will be paid on January 1, 1936, in English currency. The books will be closed on December 5 and will be reopened on December 7.
