MR COX'S CANDIDATURE, ETC.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I had not intention of answering the latter from your correspondent " Fair Play" in last Mondays isssue, as it was so moderate and totally unlike some of the effusions of members of his party, but am impelled by later events to make a few comments. I would ask " Fair Play" if Mr Forbes got a fair hearing at his meeting and whether it was not in striking contrast that that accorded to Mr Savage, and I would not be surprised to learn that it was organised. I would like to ask "Fair Play" if it is right for one man to hold -two jobs when it is distinctly against the ideals of the Labour Party, and especially when so many men are unoccupied as at present? "Ye cannot serve two masters." Mr Cox has associated himself, politically, with persons who make no secret of their extreme socialistic views, and so, " By their deeds shall they be known." Surely "Fair Play" will admit the Labour Party has come to light with sonic extraordinary "plans" for rejuvenating the Dominion, some of which are commendable and have been borrowed from the National Party, and others have been clearlv exposed in the columns of the Daily Times, especially in the solid reasoning of the leading articles. How' did your correspondent like the "fair play" of Mr Munrog effusion of Thursday' night last? I think he will agree with me that Mr Munro excelled himself on that occasion. It can reasonably be described as "The Munro Doctrine," as he has shown us how to get money,' even up to £100,000,000, simply by creating it, almost while you wait, and as easily as a magician gets rabbits out of a hat. This is what we want, lhe money will be available to all and sundry and everybody will be happy. The millennium is surely here—at least till we require more—and posterity can clean up the mess.—l am, etc., Consistent.
