THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S POLICY

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —ln your issue of to-day (Saturday) there appears a letter over the signature of “ Curious ” inferring that 1 am in some way acting in conjunction with Mr A. H. Allen, the president or the Chambers of Commerce. For the satisfaction of “ Curious,” I may state that I am totally unacquainted with Mr A. H. Allen, except by sight and the knowledge that he is one of the most estimable citizens in Dunedin. His speech in Napier, however, to which attention was directed by your leading article on Thursday morning, is the finest tribute that the Democrat Party’s policy has yet received in Dunedin.—Lam, etc., November 2. Robert Fraser
