THE WEATHER
A light easterly breeze and fine weather prevailed yesterday, with sunshine and passing cloud. The maximum temperature was 58 degrees. The barometer had a falling tendency, and registered 29.88 at 4 p.m. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, October 31. Boisterous and squally weather was experienced to-day. There was a strong wind from the north-west, and the sky was mostly overcast. Heavy showers were frequent during the morning, but the conditions improved in the afternoon. The temperature at mid-day was 61 degrees. The barometer showed a rising tendency throughout the 24 hours. WELLINGTON, October 31. The weather was cold and dull to-day, with a few light showers in the early part of the morning, and a fresh fo strong southerly wind. The maximum temperature was 52.2 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, October 31. The weather to-day was overcast, with steady rain. The maximum temperature was 49.4 degrees. The barometer was steady at 29.89 inches.
