MEDIUM YARDINGS FORWARD FAT CATTLE There was a medium yarding numbering 208 head. Included in the entry were five to six trucks of really prime heavy bullocks, the balance of the yarding comprising nicdium-weight bullocks, with a smaller proportion of prime cows and heifers. The market opened on a par with last weeks average prices, but as the sale progressed there was a slight improvement for all good quality cattle, until the last two races., when the demand was not bo keen and prices generally showed an easing of 10s per head. FAT SHEEP A medium yarding of 1392 head was penned for yesterday's market, the quality throughout being better than last week's entry. There were, however, very few prime heavy wethers on offer, the bulk of the yarding comprising some extra good heavy ewes, the balance medium 'weights, with a bigger proportion of shorn wethers and ewes than has been yarded for some time. The market opened firm on last week's average rates, but owing to the short supply of heavy wethers there was a noticeable rise in this section of Is to 2s per head, ewes remaining on a par with opening rates until the last, race, when there was a decided easing tendency. A few pens of prime shorn wethers made from 26s to 28s Gd, and prime heavy ewes from 24s to 26s 6d.
