Drizzling rain and thick mists characterised the weather on Saturday, and showers were experienced in the morning. There was a continuation of the tresn south-westerly breeze, and the maximum temperature was 49 degrees. Hie sky was heavily overcast yesterday, occasions showers falling in the morning. The wind wag fresh from the south-west during the day, but conditions generally showed an improvement, the maximum temperature being 56 degrees. The barometer is rising slowly. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND. October 27. A fresh westerly wind with cloudy, unsettled weather prevailed during the week-end. Light showers fell on featiuday. After falling to 29.45 on Saturday morning, the barometer is rising, and registered 29.85 in this evening. WELLINGTON, October 27. The weather yesterday was cold and dull, with a fresh southerly wind and drizzling rain in the morning and afternoon. The total rainfall was 17 points. There were occasional traces of rain this morning, but the afternoon was fair and mostly cloudy. The maximum temperature was 59.1 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, October 27. A fresh south-west wind with frequent heavy showers of ram blew in Christchurch yesterday. The rain ceased in the late afternoon, and the evening was fine but overcast. To-day was cloudy for the moat part, with a light easterly breeze.
