The fortnightly meeting of Court Excelsior, A.0.F., was held on Tuesday last. The C.R., Bro. W. AI. M'Minn, presided over a good attendance of officers and members. An invitation was received from Court Enterprise to attend its meeting On November 12. The resignation of Bro. Garden as minute secretary was received, and, on the motion of Bro. Hay, seconded by Bro. E. Patton, it was decided to bold the matter over until the end of the quarter, Bro. E. M. Lamb being appointed temporarily. After the close of business the C.R. closed the court and an enjoyable hour was spent playing the first round of the fourth series of euchre for the Thompson Cup. The quarterly meeting of Court Pride of Waitaki, A.0.F., was held on October 14. C.R. Bro. L. Worthington presided over a large attendance of members. The C.R. welcomed P.D.C.R. Bro. V. Doran, who had journeyed from Oamaru to install the officers to their new positions. S.C.R. Sister M. M'Gowan welcomed the visitors from Court Pride of Oamaru and Court Victoria of Oamaru. The secretary read a letter from the postmaster drawing attention to the children’s health camps, and it was decided that the court purchase stamps to the value of. 20s. I.P.C.R. Bro. Doran then installed the officers for the new term. He congratulated Sister Al. Al'Gonn on being tiio first female C.R. of the court. The following office-bearers were also installed: —S.C.R., Sister M. Donn; secretary, Bro. James Carle; treasurer, Bro. B. T. Appleby; S.W., Bro. F. Todd; J.W., Bro. C. T. Donald; 5.8., Sister Sargeant; J. 8., Bro. B. W. Stangcr; trustees —Bro. Shanks, Bro. C. H. Chapman, jun., and Bro. A, H. Al'Klnnon. After the meeting the court entertained the visiting courts at supper. On October 16 Court Pride of Waitaki travelled to Waimatc to pay an official visit to Court Foresters’ Pride. The visitors wore welcomed by the D.C.R. After the meeting a dance was held in the court room.
