' NEW YORK SHOOTINGS THREE FURTHER DEATHS NEW YORK, October 24. (Received Oct. 25, at 10 p.m.) Schultz, the gangster who was shot by rival gangsters, died in Newark Hospital. The Catholic last rites were administered. Both his tavern companions are also dead, while two of his other lieutenants who were shot in the Times square district are in a very grave condition. The police anticipate even more intense gang warfare following I3chultz’a death, claiming that a newly organised gang, having four well-known underworld leaders, has opened a ruthless campaign to wipe out both the Schultz and Amberg gangs and seize lucrative rackets. Schultz became a millionaire at the age of 34 by the manufacture of beer during the Prohibition era. Schultz before his death was delirious ■and the police were listening t;o every word spoken during his delirium, which they were never able to obtain while he was conscious. Schultz continually babbled the names of members of a notorious Sicilian gang.
