REVOLT IN CRETE

ARMED REPUBLICANS SPREAD TO MAINLAND FEARED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, October 25. (Received Oct. 25, at 8.30 p.m.) The British United Press Athens correspondent states that 2000 troops and several destroyers have been sent to Crete to suppress a new revolt in which 30,000 armed Republicans are reported to be participating. It is feared that the revolt may spread to the mainland. Fifty officers and three Republican leaders have been arrested in Athens, where the Republicans issued a proclaation calling on their followers' to boycott the coming monarchy plebiscite.
