THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S POLICY

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —With reference to the letter in this morning’s Daily Times by “Inquirer,” I have to state that it is largely for the amending and rectifying of unjust and badly dratted legislation that the Democrat' Party has taken the political field. ■ . In my opinion, there is nothing more tragic in the modern world to-day or anyone more deserving of sympathy and assistance than elderly women, either widows or spinsters, often physically unfit or in poor health, who, through no fault of their own, have had their limited means cut down to the barest necessaries for their subsistence. It will be one of the first aims of the Democrat Party by an amendment to the Mortgage Adjustment Act, or by other means, to ameliorate such conditions, which constitute a stain upon our vaunted social life. —I am, etc., October 25. Rout. Fraser.
