SALVATION ARMY APPEALS

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The generous response to our last appeal has carried us over another few months. In the month of September 3532 persons were assisted, and October is proving quite as heavy, compelling me to ask our friends to remember that October and November are always poor months for income —just the usual lull befoie Christmas. To enable me to balance about £33 is required. Many persons have a brighter outlook, but so far for every name we take off our relief lists another has to be put on. Little real reduction will be made during this year, but on a revision and compilation of lists in' the New Year, there should be a considerable change for the better. We thank our friends most sincerely for all past assistance, and ask them to continue to give me the power and pleasure of ministering to the mothers and children who are ©till looking to us to keep the table spread.—l am, etc., H. L. Coombs, Samaritan Officer.
