OVERSEA FLIGHTS
AIRMEN ARRIVING IN DOMINION CUSTOMS CLEARANCE NECESSARY (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 24. In future aircraft arriving in the Dominion from parts beyond the seas shall not land in New Zealand for the first time in any journey except at a Customs aerodrome, unless with prior permission by the Comptroller of Customs. This provision is contained in the Customs Aircraft Regulations which were gazetted to-night. The regulations make provision for forced landings and also outline the procedure to be followed by pilots in obtaining Customs clearances on landing for the first time in the Dominion. They also stipulate that aircraft leaving New Zealand shall not depart except from a Customs aerodrome and without a proper Customs clearance. Any person committing a breach of the regulations is liable to a penalty of £SO.
