ANGLING SEASON
RECENT REPORTS Recent information regarding some of the most popular streams of the district indicate that good sport is being obtained in the districts concerned. The reports are as follow: Pomahaka.—Several Dunedin fishermen who visited this river recently had fairly good results. One angler caught 15 fish on October C, and 10 the following day, while another took 20 trout on the 6th. Two Dunedin anglers caught 37 fish on the 13th, three others got 44 on the 20th, and another two men got 47 on the 20th. The baits used were fly and minnow. Shag.—Exceptionally low. Small bags being taken with dry fly. There are plenty of fish in the river in good condition. There should be good fishing after a fresh. Tokomairiro.—Low and clear. Last week-end the largest catch was seven fish. There are plenty of large fish in the river down towards the mouth, and if windy on Labour Day there should be good sport.
