CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY FINAL STAGE REACHED (Pek United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 23 The seini-nnal3 of the women's goll championship were played this morning in light rain. Miss Kay put up a good light, out could not stand uo to Airs Walkers •« cut, and was 3 down at the turn. Miss Kay was three over fours for her lo holes and Mrs Walker three under. Mrs Walker got a 3 at 364 yards (eleventh), and holed out a 16 yards chip shot tor a 2 at the fifteenth, where the match ended. Mrs Walker putted better than she has done in any other stage of the tourney. She paid super goll. Miss J. Anderson beat Miss Wade at the twenty-first after a very closely-con-tested match, neither player being more than 1 up at any stage of the game. Miss Anderson was more accurate with her tee shots, but Miss Wade was superior in putting. The match was all square at the turn. Miss Anderson was dormy one after the seventeenth had been played, but Miss Wade kept the match alive by taking the eighteenth with 5 to 6. The nineteenlh wa-i halved in fives and the twentieth in fours. At the twenty-first Miss Anderson got a bogey 3, but Miss Wade hooked her tee shot and her recovery went through, the green, and she conceded the hole. The final will be played to-morrow, when Mrs Walker and Miss Anderson will meet over 36 holes. Results: — Mrs Walker beat Miss Kay, 5 and 3. Miss Anderson beat Miss Wade at the twenty-first. THE RATTRAY CUP Miss Barns-Graham won the Rattray Cup for the player doing best in two bogey rounds, her aggregate being 6 down. Mesdames Stout and Watley did the best in the Bogey Competition this afternoon, both finishing two down.
