THE LINDIS PASS CAMP

TO THE EDITOR. Sir—l beg to differ from Mr Bodkin in what he said in the House with reference to his visit to the Lmdis Pass Public Works Department camp when, he asserts, he heard no complaints from the men. The only thing that I knew of Mr Bodkin's visit was derived from the fact that I saw a big red car go up and down the road. As the road was on the opposite side of the river from that on which we were working, I fail to see how Mr Bodkin could expect to hear complaints. I, for one, would have been able to supply bim with quite a few comnlaints to take away with, him. 1 protest against such unfair statements emanating from the present member for the district. Then we have the report of Mr Coates headed, "Vindicated by Results." I would not go so far as Mr Coates if he expects the country to return him to power for a repeat order as the extra year olone of this Parliament is J enough to make many good people shudder that they were so haety last election day. I would thank Mr Moss for his able letters dealing with this subject and his courageous exposure of the manner in which New Zealand is being made prisoner and New Zealanders made bondmen. —I am, etc., Free New Zhalander. October 22.
