Mr S. D. Neill travelled by yesterday's express from Dunedin to Christ church.
Mr W. J. Morrell (chancellor), Mr L. Dean 3 Ritchie (vice-chancellor), and Mr H. Chapman (registrar of the Otago University) left Dunedin yesterday morning for Wellington on University business. Mr J. C. Watson, president of the National Roads and Motorists' Association of New South Wales, is visiting the Dominion. He intends to confer with the presidents of both the North and South Island motor unions.
Up to the present no fewer than eight nominations for the moderatorship of the 1936 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church have been received—namely, the Rev. W. H. Howes, J. Davie, J. Laughton, D. MTvor, J. Patereon, J. L. Robinson, T. H. Roseveare, and D. J. A. Shaw.
The members of the Railways BoardSir James Gunson (acting chairman), Messrs D. Reese, G. W. Reid, and E. Newman—accompanied by the general manager of railways (Mr G. H. Mackley) left Dunedin yesterday morning for Invercargill and Te Anau. To-day the board will procceed to the head of the road through Eglinton and Hollyford Valleys to Milford. The return journey to Dunedin will be made via Manapouri, Rae's Junction, and Roxburgh.
