DESTRUCTIVE HURRICANE
HEAVY DAMAGE IN JAMAICA BANANA ESTATES STRIPPED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) KINGSTON (Jamaica), October 21. (Received Oct. 22, at 11.15 p.m.) Jamaica's banana planters estimated their losses at 2,500,000 dollars after the second destructive hurricane within a month. Estates missed by the September storm were stripped of fruitladen trees .to-day. It is thought that the two disasters destroyed 70 per cent, of the entire crop. An 11-year-old boy was drowned. Forming in Carribean Sea, the hurricane passed slightly east of Jamaica and whirled towards Cuba, causing. heavy gales over a wide area.
