MONTECILLO HOME

RETIREMENT OF MATRON At a meeting yesterday afternoon of the Bed Cross Society a letter wag received from Miss Agnes Macmillan tendering her resignation from the position of matron of the Montecillo Home, the resignation to take effect from the end of the year. Miss Graham moved that the resignation be received with great regret, and that members of the executive place on record their sincere appreciation of Matron Macmillan's splendid services to the society and the patients, and of the efficiency she had shown in the performance of her duties during the years she has been in charge. The resolution was seconded by Miss Rattray and carried- unanimouly. The Rev. Mr King said that all members were extremely sorry to receive this resignation. Since 1918 Miss Macmillan had given unfailing loyalty to the home and the committee, and by the exercise of tact and discretion had had very little trouble with the patients. She had always put the work of the home and the society first. One and all were exceedingly sorry to have to lose her services, and'he himself would like to bear his personal testimony to the consideration and kindness shown by Miss .Macmillan during her term as matron. Miss Rattray endorsed the remarks of Mr King, and said that the society had been fortunate in its matron, for she had filled her position with credit to herself and to the entire satisfaction of the committee. On the motion of Mr Jeffery, seconded by Mr Smeaton, it was unanimously agreed that the matron-be presented with an illuminated copy of the minute.
