N.G. Bro. R. M. Currie presided over a fair attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Milton Lodge. Four members were declared on the funds and four declared off. N.G. Bro. Currie reported having attended the Loyal Mosgiel Lodge official visit and spending an enjoyable time. Routine business was transacted, and at the close of this members took part in a game of badminton. The "Visitors' Toast" was responded to by V.G. Sister A. Porter, on behalf of Loyal Victoria Lodge. The Loyal Caversham Lodge met on Wednesday evening. N.G. Bro. C. H. Croft was in the chair. There was a fair attendance of members and visitors. In view of the fact that the annual meeting of the Otago District will be held in the Caversham Lodge during next March, it was decided to set up a committee *to make preliminary arrangements for the functions to be held. A donation was made to the juvenile sports fund. The lodge later adjourned, and the N.G. welcomed members of the lodge's juvenile branch, who were introduced by P.G. Bro. J. Adam (president). ' The boys were the guests of the adult lodge for the evening, and a programme of games and competitions was staged, following which they were entertained at supper. There was a large attendance at the meeting of Loyal Victoria Lodge, held at Milton on Wednesday evening, N.G. Sister L. Goss presiding. Warden Sister C. Henderson reported having attended Loyal Mosgiel official visit, and the N.G. reported on Loyal Tapanui Lodge ball. Per. Sec. Sister H. Lockhart and G.M. Sister E. Thornton gave interesting reports on the half-yearly district meeting and jubilee celebrations of Loyal Outram Lodge, and were accorded hearty votes of thanks. It was decided to hold the annual official visit towards the end of November. It was, resolved to entertain Loval Milton Lodge and Court Bruce, A.6.F., at a social evening. ..... The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Albion Lodae, held on Thursday evening, was well attended, N.G. Bro. R. M. Stewart presiding. Before commencing business, reference was made to the recent death at Auckland of an old and respected member Bro. Richard Ross, and a resolution of 'sympathy was carried. Three new members were initiated, Following the close of business, a social was held to celebrate the seventy-first anniversary ot the lod«e. The N.G. welcomed some.9o members and visitors, a feature being the presence of -many old members. A happy evening was spent in music, song, and story, items being contributed by the following 'brethren:—Bros. W. Fmnie and G M'Kmlay (songs), Bro. J. Henderson (marimba solos), Bros M Chlshom and M Poulter (instrumental items), Bro. Jb. Foster (musical monologues), while the members of the Otago Regimental Band rendered a number of pleasing selections. The chief toasts honoured were:— Ihe Otaeo District," proposed by P.P.1*..»1. Bro R. S. Black and acknowledged by P g'm Bro J. D. Cameron and the district* officers; " The Albion Lodge, proposed by P.C. Secretary Bro. A. Sligo; "The Visitors," proposed by P.l .G.xU. Bro E. Longworth, responses being received from the Loyal Valley, Centenary, Caversham, Prince of Wales Band of Friendship, Mosgiel, Duneclin, and Hand and Heart Lodges. The toast of The Pioneers" was proposed by *J?*xJ>L. Bro P. W. Stabb, who paid a tribute to the efforts of those older brethren who had eiven yeoman service to the wage and Order. Among the pioneer members who spoke in response to the toast were Bros. J. Carnngton (oldest member) b. Smith, A. Jones, G. Kennedy, M Neill, Ferguson, LiUey (Albion)., and Bros. Jester, Riach (Dunedin), Kirbv (Naseby), and Barnett (Band of Friendship, K.akanui). Before concluding, a vote of thanks was accorded the performers. . On Saturday evening the Loyal Princess Mary Lodge held a special meeting in order to receive an official visit from the Loval Middlemarch Lodge. N.G. Sister C. Lunarn presided, and extended a cordial welcome to the members of the country lodge and to the P.G.M. (Bro.. Cameron), P.D.G.M. (Bro. Hey), and visitors from various city lodges. Acknowledging the welcome, N.G. Bro. G. Robertson thanked the local lodge for the invitation. Referring to the Middlemarch Lodge, Bro Robertson stated that since being constituted a mixed lodge it had made marked progress. He expressed the hope that in the near future it would have a visit from the Princess Mary Lodge, rer. Sec Bro. A. Robertson also responded. On" behalf of the District Executive, PGM Bro. Cameron also welcomed the visitors, and referred to the enthusiasm displayed in the Middlemarch Lodge on the occasion of his recent visit. After an initiation ceremony had been creditably conducted by the officers of Princess Mary, the meeting concluded, the visitors being entertained at a dance.
