THE LADY SOUTHERN CROSS SATISFACTORY TEST FLIGHT LOS ANGELES, August 23. After a complete overhaul Sir Charles Kingsford Smith gave his plane, Lady Southern Cross, a test flight, and expressed pleasure at its performance. He hopes to take off for New York on August 29. From there he will ship the plane to England, hoping to start for Australia on October 15. IMPERIAL AIRWAYS SERVICE LONDON, August 23. Commencing on September 2d from London and on October 3 from Singa-. pore, the Imperial Airways service between London and Singapore will become bi-weekly, thus creating a departure every Tuesday and Saturday to Australia. • AIRCRAFT OVER ITALY • LONDON, August 24. (Received August 25, at 10.30 p.m.) The Rome correspondent of The Times says: “It has been announced that foreign aircraft entering or leaving Italy must henceforth cross the land frontiers or the coast only at specified points and must follow the shortest route to the aerodrome for which they are bound.'’-r-Times Cable.
