Accounts and salaries totalling £lll3 10s 3d were passed for payment. The board entered into a lengthy discussion on a paper received from Mr James A. Jenkins, of Dunedin, on the hospital system of Otago and Southland. It was decided that in the event of a conference being held to go further into the matter the board would send a delegate as it was of the opinion that better co-operation between the various boards would be to their mutual advantage, at any rate as regards matters of finance and policy. Regarding the questionnaire that concluded the paper, however, the board was not prepared t® answer these questions without further investigation and explanation.
