FORESTERS

The monthly meeting of Court Pride of Bruce Juvenile Foresters attached to Court Bruce, was held on Thursday last. C.Pv. Bro. A. Stewart presided over a record attendance of members. The president (Bro. J. Begg) complimented the court on its decision to admit girls to its membership, which was a step in the right direction and filled a long-felt want. He was sure the court would continue to progress under the new arrangement, as evidenced by the large number of girls who were initiated that evening and who were given a warm welcome. Apart from the benefits to be derived, the members would find the meetings educative, and, in addition, the Management Committee would make special provision for entertainment of the youthful members. The meeting of Court King Edward's Fride was held on Thursday last, when C.R. Bro. Denholm occupied the chair. P.C.R. Bro. Walton was nominated as a judge of the next ritual competition. Owing to removal from town, the J.B. (Sister Gillan) tendered her resignation from that office. This was accepted with regret, and Bro. Spence was elected and duly installed into the position by P.C.R. Bro. Clarke. The balance sheet for the past six months was adopted. It showed that the court was making steady progress, and the funds were all healthy. Attention was drawn to the help extended to members from the benevolent fund. Invitations were accepted from Courts Pride of the Leith and St. Andrew's. The annual church parade and service of all societies was again brought before the members. Two nominations for meirbership were accepted, and the meeting ciosed with a dance.
