BOXING
TO-NIGHT’S CONTESTS
At the Pioneer Hall this evening the public of Dunedin will have an opportunity of seeing all the leading local amateurs in action, as well as a number of promising youths, who are making their debut in the novice class. The tournament will be limited to one night only, and as there are over 30 competitors entered, followers will receive a very full night’s ' entertainment. Among the en trants, who come from Dunedin, Oamaru, Milton Port Chalmers, and Kaitangata, are included such well-known performers as Billy Drew, Jim Ramsay, Lex Grcaney, and N. Mathewson. A favourite of a year or so back, who is staging a come-back, is Snowy Olsen, while another, whose performance in the novice lightheavy class will he watched with interest, is Len Coughlan. the New Zealand amateur wrestling champion. Owing to the fttl! programme the first bout will commence sharp at 8 p.nn, and patrons are advised to secure their seats early.
